Banned Book Alert

Banned Book Alert

Hey, loves,

What you may not know is that The Beast’s Beauty was initially banned from Amazon. I tried to pursue the topic, and all they would tell me was that it violated their terms and conditions. When I pushed, I got a snarky email that pretty much said, “Because we said so.”

I resubmitted it, and it went through. I celebrated too soon, though, because I got an email yesterday informing me that it had been officially banned (again).

Censorship is alive and well, and what’s more, we’ve noticed a trend toward M/F titles being accepted despite extreme content while M/M titles are being banned. I personally don’t think the book should’ve been banned, but I am a bit biased. I will not be trying to put it back on Amazon, at least any time soon, and I’m still trying to decide if I want to push harder or if that’ll make them look harder at my backlist and ban other titles. It’s a hard choice, but writing is my sole income, and I can’t risk being completely banned by the almighty ‘Zon.

Thankfully, there are two places I could immediately turn to: Smashwords, which houses a lot of taboo content, and PayHip, which allows me to sell directly to the reader. The Beast’s Beauty is available at both places, and there’s a chance it’ll be distributed elsewhere. I’m waiting to see, and it’s not something I can predict at the moment.

This doesn’t mean all of my books are going elsewhere, so those of you reading on KU don’t need to worry about me pulling my books (voluntarily). I just know the sequel to this one has a big chance of denial too, and I can’t risk too many titles raising red flags.

I wanted to thank all of you for your support. I write because I love it, but I also write for my readers. I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to read this. I don’t usually send newsletters so close together, but the ban has me scrambling to get the word out. 🙁

Thank you, and love y’all.

“No one will ever look past these scars.”

Once a popular singer, Griffin lost everything to a fire. Society cast him aside when it became clear he was no longer handsome. Sure that no one will ever see beyond the scars that have ruined half of his body, he turns to desperate measures to find companionship.

“How can I do anything but surrender?”

Kidnapped because of his looks, Ryder is delivered to Griffin to become anything his master wants him to be. He is repeatedly forced to choose between humiliation and worse. Each time he obeys Griffin, a piece of him breaks away. Can he truly refuse when every option is worse than the next?

In this psychological drama, two men struggle with their definitions of what society labels beauty as opposed to a beast… and they learn that the true definition of beauty might not be as clear as they’d thought.

Notes: This book includes kidnapping, Stockholm Syndrome, humiliation, and puppy play. Some readers may be offended at the contents.
